WHISKEY OF THE WEEK – No.4 – Palace Bar 12

Our third whiskey of the week is Palace Bar 12 – No.5 on our tasting tour and another beautiful Irish whiskey. See our guide Jamie wax lyrical like one of the authors celebrated on the label of the bottle. You have the likes of Patrick Kavanagh , Brendan Behan & Flann O’Brien who all loved a sup of the aul whiskey in The Palace Bar itself adorning the label on the bottle.

Palace Bar 12 is a single malt aged in ex port pipes. The whiskey comes from old Cooley stock and is bottled for the Aherne family who own and run in The Palace Bar on Fleet St – Temple Bar. With only about 1000 bottles of this whiskey bottled , and it’s sad to say that their are only around 40 bottles left in Dublin for sale, if you can get your hands on one, then snap it up.

Next week our whiskey of the week will be the wonderful Redbreast 12. slainte!
