Dublin Whiskey Tours - Our Dublin History - Finns Hotel

Finn’s hotel is only left with a ghost sign these days, but back in 1904 this is where Nora Barnacle and James Joyce first met. She worked as a chambermaid in Finns Hotel. Their first date was on June 16th 1904 when they went to Ringsend and ‘enjoyed each other’s company’.  Joyce based the character of Molly Bloom in Ulysses on her, and June 16th is now celebrated every year as ‘Bloomsday’.

The hotel is now closed but you can still feel the romance in the area by sipping a nice pot still Irish whiskey at The Lincolns Inn.
