Seriously easy to drink and great on the pocket.

The Irishman comes from the Walsh Distillery in Co.Carlow. This is somewhat of a premium blend as it uniquely contains no cheap, grain whiskey in the mix. The only spirits blended in are single malt and single pot still whiskey. On the nose it has hints of ginger, apples and honey. It’s a lovely dram at any price.

West Cork Black Cask – 40% ABV –  €36.99 @ Celtic Whiskey Shop

This blend from West Cork Distillers has been finished in double charred American oak barrels. This charring gives the whiskey enhanced vanilla flavours, sweetness as well as a dark – almost chestnut – colour. Yet this is a light whiskey to sip on with both a smooth texture and a burnt spice taste on the tongue. Great whiskey at an unbeatable price.
