Slane Whiskey welcomes Guns n Roses to the grounds

Our first news item in Irish whiskey news Guns N’ Roses and 83,000 fans squashed into the grounds of Slane Castle this weekend for an amazing concert from one of the best rock bands of all time. Only a few hundred yards away the new Slane distillery is nearing completion. Hopefully Slash & Co got to have a few sneaky sips of their new liquid while they were over in Ireland.

Waterford Whiskey is losing money

Mark Reyniers Waterford Whiskey down €840,000 in 2016 after securing funding of over 21 million just recently.

Bottle of 20 Year old George Roe & Coe sells for €4000

A rare Irish whiskey sold for £3,600 (€4k) at a McTear’s auction in Glasgow. A bottle of 20-year-old George Roe & Co pure Irish pot still whiskey inspired fierce telephone bidding, with the bottle eventually going to an Irish collector.
