Irish Whiskey Weekly News - Dead Rabbit

The Dead Rabbit release their full cocktail menu

The Dead Rabbit – the famous New York establishment with a string of awards to its name, including World’s Best Bar – is coming home to Ireland for a five-day residency later this week and they have just released their cocktail menu.

Taking up a temporary home at The Sidecar at The Westbury Hotel in Dublin City Centre from 28 September to 2 October, The Dead Rabbit will put the emphasis on Irish whiskey as they release their full list of cocktails.

Irish Whiskey Weekly News - McGregor

Fresh trademark blow for McGregor’s whiskey plan

The Dublin-born mixed martial arts superstar, Conor McGregor, is facing a fresh setback to his plan to cash in on his name by launching a whiskey brand using his moniker, Notorious.

The fighter revealed the plan last month following his boxing bout with Floyd Mayweather, and said the whiskey was “coming soon”. Séamus O’Hara, the founder of the Carlow Brewing Company and a serial drinks industry investor, this month hired a Madrid law firm as he seeks to block Mr McGregor from registering the Notorious trademark across Europe.

Irish Whiskey Weekly News - Teeling Exorcist

Teeling Distillery to show The Exorcist

If you’re looking something a bit different to do to celebrate Hallowe’en this year, then we think we’ve found just the thing.

Teeling Distillery in Dublin 8 are turning their exhibition space into a spooky screening room for one night only on Thursday 26 October, and they’ll be showing 1973 horror classic The Exorcist. It all kicks off at 6.30pm, and you can book your tickets right here, and availability is quite limited, so you’d better act fast.
